Santa Paws to Return for Pet Portraits

It’s true; a ranking member of the Santa Paws Public Appearance Preparedness Committee sent a tweet confirming @Santa_Paws will arrive in the nick of time for his Noon to 4:00 pm appearance at Photos with Santa Paws, scheduled for Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Pet’s General Store, 16821 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio. The fundraising event is, again this year, presented by Friends of the Lakewood Dog Park, Inc.

Ms. Ima Elf, senior advisor to Santa Paws on supply side economics as it relates to peppermint candy manufacturing, and long-time North Pole insider, has been on-site for more than a week, busy scouting out the perfect event venue. She excitedly told this reporter that “Santa Paws will be posing for pictures” with area pets, at none other than the highly regarded Pet’s General Store.snow3

Elf went on to explain that store owner, Mr. Greg Schnupp, was proving to be a most gracious host and had been very easy to work with. Schnupp, in turn, complimented Elf’s professionalism and said he was “pleased with the project” up to this point. Elf emphasized that in order to accommodate SP’s hectic schedule of “constant world-wide travel and innumerable appearances at the most wonderful time of the year,” Pet’s General Store, which is ordinarily closed on Sunday, will be open from Noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2013 for this special event.

Now that they’ve been given the go ahead, FLDP volunteers have jumped into action, securing accommodations for Santa Paws and his sizable entourage of pointy-eared associates and the predominately four-footed members of the logistics division who are tasked with keeping Santa Paws on time during his extensive travels.

During a brief Skype interview with logistics division director Rudy – who, it must be noted, has a very shiny nose – this reporter learned about the intricacies of coordinating travel for the large group. “No so bad nowadays” Rudy told me, “We only use the sleigh on ceremonial occasions and if it’s cloudy we’ve got the GPS.” He explained that everybody travels together on an enormous corporate jet. When asked about luggage restrictions or long delays in the TSA line, Rudy smiled and replied, “no comment.” NetJets™ declined to confirm or deny that Santa Paws is a client.

Photos with Santa Paws is a fundraiser for Friends of the Lakewood Dog Park, Inc. FLDP is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization that partners with the City of Lakewood to care for the park. The group holds fundraisers throughout the year to pay for park amenities and to fund dog park improvements.
